Growth Spurt for Energy-Efficient Windows

Growth Spurt for Energy-Efficient Windows

A new report by estimates that the market size for energy-efficient windows will grow to $25.31 billion by 2026. The study credits the increase to wider adoption of green building standards, the trend toward improving energy efficiency, and growth in popularity of heating, ventilation and air conditioning applications. Rise in construction activities in emerging economies and an inclination toward sustainable construction methods are also creating growth opportunities for the energy-efficient windows market.
The residential segment dominated the energy efficiency market in 2015 and is projected by the research firm to be the fastest-growing end-use sector in the next 10 years. “As a result of the growth in population, rise in urbanization and industrialization, this market is mostly driven by the upward surge in the demand for new constructions across the world,” the report concluded. Other benefits such as reduced noise and dust and improved thermal insulation are driving the market for energy-efficient windows in the residential sector.
Consumers’ concerns about energy consumption and interest in sustainable construction are also anticipated to propel homeowners and building contractors to switch to energy-efficient windows for replacement purposes, majorly in developed markets, the report concluded.
